We educate and update members regularly on key regulatory issues and the effect they might have on Kansas construction business. We also raise valuable political action funds to support pro-business, pro-construction candidates.

The Construction Safety Committee works with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on the administration of the AGC-OSHA Safety Outreach Program and consults workforce safety issues that might impact job-site safety. We also provide a variety of cost-effective safety solutions to these issues for AGC of Kansas’ member firms.
Specialty and subcontractor members have the opportunity to meet in our regional council meetings to discuss and prioritize issues affecting them in the industry. AGC of Kansas then allocates resources to drive actionable solutions envisioned by this council.
The Workforce Development Construction Committee develops programming for entry-level and incumbent workforce craft training, management/superintendent training and other construction training needed on our members’ job sites.
We provide the largest state sponsorship for the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER). NCCER offers accredited, world-class craft training and management training materials. Training is based on competency and set up in a modular system to meet the diverse needs of the construction industry. When employees finish their training, they receive a completion credential that is incorporated into a national database for future reference.
AGC of Kansas works with 125 high schools, community colleges and vocational technical partners with nearly 4,000 students in NCCER training. In addition, nearly 200 instructors in Kansas are certified to teach NCCER curriculum.

We partner with Birddog HR to provide our members with free access to job boards, which are available to applicants from our educational partners and in the private sector. We’re also working on a database of entry-level construction workers from the nearly 4,000 students enrolled in the NCCER curriculum.
Championed by AGC of Kansas in 2016, this construction task force reviews existing alternative project delivery laws and statutes that allow for various procurement options, such as Construction Management at Risk (CMAR), on publicly funded projects in the state. The goal is to determine if an existing law does not meet the needs and expectations of both policy makers and the construction industry.
P3’s mission is to educate AGC of Kansas’ member firms about the value of public-private partnerships to Kansas general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. Our strategic plan provides best practices on how other states approach private-public partnerships.
The Construction Leadership Council is a forum for our young and emerging construction professionals, both in the field and office. We bring AGC of Kansas construction science student chapters at Kansas State University and Pittsburg State University and senior construction personnel together to network, for mentoring opportunities and in educational workshops.
This committee focuses on growing AGC of Kansas’ non-dues revenue provides valuable resources for its members, increases its buying power and maintains membership dues at a reasonable level for new and existing members.
This committee’s goal is to increase subcontractor and supplier member participation by developing educational and marketing materials that showcase AGC of Kansas’ membership services, such as workforce development, safety and buying power, among others.
The Kansas Construction Education Foundation develops programming to raise funds for scholarships and professorships for construction sciences programs at AGC of Kansas’ student chapters at Kansas State University and Pittsburg State University through an annual auction held at the same time as AGC of Kansas’ State Convention, Kan-Struct.
