AGC of Kansas hosts an Annual State Safety Awards program to recognize those construction general contractors, specialty contractors, subcontractors and suppliers excellence in job-site safety. This Awards Program is the “BEST OF THE BEST” in job-site safety best practices.
This year’s State Safety Awards will be presented at AGC of Kansas State Convention, held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Marriott Wichita Hotel & Convention Center (Wichita, KS).

The purpose of the KCSEA is to recognize those companies who excel at safety performance. KCSEA will closely examine each candidate’s commitment to safety and occupational health management and risk control. Unlike the National AGC Safety Awards (NASA) program that limits the criteria to frequency rates, the KCSEA selection process is considerably more comprehensive. Judges will look for evidence of company management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation.
Participants will be required to complete the application forms and submit them to AGC of Kansas Chapter Office. AGC of Kansas will review the to ensure the applications are completed correctly and meet the requirements. Members of the KCSEA Judging Committee will review application to determine the finalist. The finalists in each category will then compete for either a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place award.
Finalists will have an opportunity to give an oral presentation in front a panel of judges. The first, second and third place awards will be determined after oral presentations. The winners will be announced at the KAN-STRUCT Annual Convention. The KCSEA Judging panel will also pick the Safety Contractor of the Year. The Safety Contractor of the Year recipient will be selected from the First-place award winners represented in each division and category. This award is granted to the “Best of the Best” for the Kansas Construction Safety Excellence Awards program.
KCSEA Application Instructions
Application forms must be completed and submitted properly for applicants to be considered for the KCSEA. Improper completion may result in disqualification or a deduction in points toward the applicant’s overall score which is used to determine finalists. In addition to properly completing and submitting the application, applications must be accompanied by an application fee.
